“Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.” Hebrews 10:24 NLT
Remember that with the Daniel Fast, although we are abstaining from certain foods, we shouldn’t feel deprived. The foods that we are consuming on the Daniel Fast are rich and nourishing and abundant in vitality.
Your food choices on the Daniel Fast will do good to your body. This is the nature of the Daniel Fast. Through Daniel’s faithful decisions, he not only gained wisdom and understanding, but he also looked healthier and better nourished compared to those who ate the king’s food.
With the idea of what Daniel ate when he resolved to not eat the kings food, and when he mourned and humbled himself before God in the process, we get the idea of the Daniel Fast which restricts our diet in a similar fashion to when Daniel in his faithfulness found favor.
The food list for the Daniel Fast can be a bit subjective. Some people are more strict than others with the rules of the fast. But in all fairness the Daniel Fast is an interpretation of Daniel’s diet and not an exact copy.
The difficult part of abiding by the food list is making sure that those tricky little ingredients that are in well meaning products don’t sneak into our meals 🙂. Like added sugar, artificial preservatives, artificial flavorings, and other food additives and chemicals!
Be strong and sincere and kind to yourself during this process of devotion to God. Focus on God. Be sensitive to the Holy Spirt's leading. And don’t ever ever be HANGRY 😁😊
God bless!
